We can't wait until the first day of school!!

VHS sophomores, juniors and seniors, if you have your ID badge from last year, please make sure you wear it tomorrow when we begin the 2025-26 school year. After we see who still has their badge, we will make a list of those students who need a new badge. Freshmen, we will issue ID badges later. We're looking forward to seeing EVERYONE -- whether you have a badge or not -- tomorrow!!

Monday afternoon several former teachers and other residents stopped by Vernon Elementary to pray in small groups with our staff as we prepare for our first day of school on Wednesday. We appreciate the support and know it is going to be a great year!

Our Vernon Elementary team is geared up and ready to get the 2025-26 school year started and make it one of the best ones ever!!

Remember -- our VISD Meet The Teacher event is tomorrow!! We're looking forward to having students and their parents back on our campuses as we get ready for the first day of school!

The sound of our Roarin' Lion Band echoing across the field is already fantastic, and their commitment to excellence is truly inspiring. Band students have already begun work for this year's marching competition season and the upcoming football season, learning music and drill for our upcoming show as well as painting their paws outside of the music building! This season is going to be something special, and it's all because of their unwavering passion!

There was plenty of excitement and energy on Leo Brittain Field early Saturday morning as the Lions held their Midnight Madness Practice. The Lions get their first taste of real action this Friday, when they travel to Abilene for a scrimmage against Lamesa.
