As part of Vernon ISD's health services, a spinal screening will be conducted next week. Per Texas state requirements, only 7th grade girls and 8th grade boys will be screened this year. If a student shows any sign of a spinal defect at the screening, we will relay the information to the parent/guardian in writing. We hope the student will then be taken to their primary care provider for diagnoses and follow-up care if needed.
