While the Vernon Lions kick off the 2023 season Friday night, their first two games of the season are on the road, which means it’s still not too late to purchase a reserve seat package for the five home games.
Lion fans who purchase the reserve seat ticket package are guaranteed to have the same seat for all games at Leo Brittain Field at Lion Stadium. Reserve seat packages may be purchased from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Vernon ISD Administrative Center at 1713 Wilbarger St. The cost of a reserve seat ticket package is $30.
The Lions will play their first home game of the season on Sept. 8 when they host San Angelo Lake View in the 2023 Homecoming Game. Vernon wraps up the non-district portion of its schedule at home on Sept. 22, when the Lions host Burkburnett.
The Clyde Bulldogs come to town on Oct. 6, as the Lions begin District 3-3A action. The Lions will host the Iowa Park Hawks on Oct. 20 and will remain at home on Oct. 27 when they host the Jim Ned Indians.
Road games for the Lions this year include: City View, Aug. 25; Gainesville, Sept. 1; Idalou, Sept. 15; (district) Breckenridge, Oct. 13; and (district) Bowie, Nov. 3.
All games will begin at 7 p.m.
