REMINDER -- Vernon ISD's in-person student registration/enrollment for the 2024-25 school year is Monday. This year in-person registration/enrollment will be held at a different location than in previous years. Parents/guardians will need to go to the Vernon Elementary School between the hours of 7 a.m. to noon, and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to register/enroll their child if they have not done so online. Students register if they were attending VISD schools on the last day of 2023-24. Students enroll if they finished last year at another school district.
New Roarin' Lion Band Director Jeremiah Hastings met with band members and their parents Tuesday evening to introduce himself and go over his expectations for the year. Summer band camp starts in a few days as they begin preparing for the 2024 marching season.
TOMORROW NIGHT -- The meeting for all Roarin' Lion Band members and their parents is tomorrow. Roarin' Lion Band Director Jeremiah Hastings set the meeting for 7 p.m., Tuesday, in the VHS Band Hall. The meeting is for all 8th grade thru 12th grade band students and their parents.
A one-day VMS Volleyball bootcamp for all incoming 7th and 8th grade Lady Lion volleyball players has been scheduled for Monday, July 29, at D.O. Fulton Gym. Lady Lion athletes participating in the bootcamp will need to complete and bring all of their athletic paperwork with them to camp.
Vernon Middle School parents -- whether your child is a sixth grader just starting at VMS or an eighth grader about to start their last year on our campus, please make plans to attend one of our Parent Orientation sessions. You will receive valuable information and will be able to ask questions. Get off on the right foot for the 2024-25 school year and help make it the best it can be -- attend Parent Orientation!
DEADLINE TODAY!! The Lions Football Camp is next week and the forecast is for beautiful weather!! The skills and drills the campers will go through will not only help in football, but in other sports as well. Late registration is the morning of the first day of camp, which is Monday.

Registration for the Lion Football Camp wraps up Thursday!! The camp will be held July 22-24 at Leo Brittain Field at Lion Stadium. Camp will be held from 9:30 a.m. to Noon and is open to all incoming kindergarten thru 9th grade athletes. Camp drills will improve footwork, hand-eye coordination, throwing/catching mechanics, proper running techniques for football and other sports. Sign-up at the fieldhouse Door G-1, from 10 a.m. to Noon July 15-18!

Vernon Lions football is just 7 Friday nights away!! The 2024 season opens with the Lions on the road in Burkburnett on Aug. 30. After that, the Lions will play 6 of their remaining 9 regular-season games in the jungle they call home -- Leo Brittain Field at Lion Stadium.
This Monday, Reserve Seat Season Tickets for those 6 home games go on sale to Lions fans who purchased reserve seats last year. Those fans have until July 25 to reclaim their seats. Reserve seat season tickets go on sale to the general public on July 29.
Tickets can be purchased at the Vernon ISD Administrative Center. A reserve seat pack for the 6-game home season is $36. Please pay by check or cash.

Campers had a great time at the Lions & Lady Lions Basketball Camp that was held the last week of June at D.O. Fulton Gym. Coach Robinson and Coach Wynn thanked all campers for attending and their parents for bringing the youngsters to camp. The coaches also appreciate and wanted to thank Toby Kitchens and Texas Farm Bureau Insurance for sponsoring the camp.

Here is another opportunity for our VISD student/athletes who are incoming 7th, 9th, and 11th graders, or any student/athlete who suffered a major injury last year, to get a free sports physical. You must also be a member of the Vernon Boys & Girls Club to receive the free physical. Two-a-day workouts for Vernon High School football, volleyball and cross country athletes begin Monday, Aug. 5.
