Vernon Middle School

VMS families, I have had 3 families reach out to me personally regarding my decision to not permit middle school students to wear mums on Friday. They stated great points especially in regards to district and community support. I believe in community/school relationships and want what is best for our students. With that said, I will permit mums to be worn on Friday in school. I ask that the mums be reasonable in size and any bells, ringers and so forth be silenced so as not to cause distraction during the school day. REMINDER Due to additional safety measures put in place this school year, any visitor must bring a valid driver's license or government ID when entering the school. In addition, no student will be released to anyone without that valid ID.

Vernon ISD is announcing that McCord, Central, Shive, and Vernon Middle School qualify to operate the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) which means that students at these campuses will not have to pay for breakfast and lunch this school year. This ONLY applies to the campuses mentioned above. SKYWARD GLITCH!! It has come to our attention that Skyward is currently experiencing a glitch. When parents try to reset their Skyward password, or try to sign up for a new account, they are not getting the emails from Skyward. We are aware of this issue and have reached out to our contacts with the company. We will update when we are informed the issue is resolved. Thank you for your patience!

🏈Vernon Football Camp🏈 Parents, this is a reminder that the Vernon HS Football Staff will be hosting a football camp starting July 25th and running through the 27th for all incoming 1st through 9th graders. All pertinent information concerning our camp can be found on the registration form. Two ways to register are provided. The first way to register is to simply print the registration form, fill it out, and return it to the fieldhouse or to central office (a link to the printable form is at the end of this post). A second way to register your child is by scanning the provided QR Code on the registration form. Previously, we have experienced technical difficulties with the QR Code portion of the registration process. We apologize to those who have experienced issues when trying to register. The problem should be fixed now. Because of registration issues, the pre-registration deadline has been extended through July 19th. The best time of day to turn in your pre-registration form to the fieldhouse will be between 8:00AM & 1:00PM. If you are unable to pre-register before July 19th, your child can register the first day of camp at a cost of $35. We hope to see your child at camp! End of Course STAAR results for 2022 are now available. The release date for STAAR grades 3-8 is now scheduled for tomorrow, July 1. To access your child's scores, visit TexasAssessment.gov and enter your child's unique access code.
